![]() ![]() If it is the latter, that's always going to be a matter of personal taste as I consider Old World to be on of the best 4X games I've ever played while you don't like it. Or are you thinking of 4X games in general? What other games are you thinking of? There's ARA, that Microsoft entry which may be a competitor but it's a way off yet and not even confirmed to be such yet. As for it being the better entry, there's Civ and there's Humankind. Old World is not a competitor to Civ like Humankind is. In the end, HK disappoints me in some key ways even to this day, but of the games in the genre that aren't Civ, it might actually be one of the better entries lately. ![]() OW turned out to be far more of a disappointment than HK. While I don't think HK is a strong competitor to Civ, it is miles ahead of Old World. Originally posted by Aluminum Elite Master:Tbh, I put down HK for a while. Thanks for reply, I have actually checked the numbers - looks like daily numbers are 30 times below Civ6, 15 times below Civ5 and even below Civ4 or Civ3 - think that pretty much sums it up., Too bad, wanted to give the game one more chance but there is no point when there is no challenge. I'm just waiting for the devs to stop futzing with it so modders can make it the game the player base wants instead of the game the developers want it to be. This is the reason that (according to Steamcharts) the active player base has been steadily decreasing over time. The devs keep making small adjustments and tell us that they are listening to player feedback but for the most part action on that feedback has been minor or non-existent, particularly in the cases of game mechanics that the devs believe are innovations or "critical" Humankind flavor.
